EX3600-6 Hitachi Module
We embarked on a joint venture with Australian Component Group and Hydraulic Technical Solutions to fully recondition a module to suit an EX3600-6 Hitachi Excavator, which would help them reduce downtime significantly.
Our focus here at Westralian Diesel is to support WA’s mining industry.
To support this, we came up with the idea of stocking a complete service exchange engine module, which would provide a significant reduction in downtime for our customers. This means that the entire module simply gets removed and replaced, rather than spending time and effort stripping and overhauling individual components within the module.
To make our idea a reality, we embarked on a joint venture with Australian Component Group and Hydraulic Technical Solutions to fully recondition a module to suit an EX3600-6 Hitachi Excavator.
This included:
- A fully reconditioned Cummins QSK60 engine
- A chassis frame upgrade to accept an extended life engine sump
- New hydraulic pumps
- A reconditioned PTO
- A serviced radiator
- Sew hosing throughout
- Sandblasted and painted framework
The project took more than a year from inception to completion, but the unit is now available and ready for sale.
This project was a first for Westralian Diesel, and we’re delighted with the completed module. We look forward to putting the module through its paces in the field soon.
